I'm a computer science professor at the University of Utah, where my work web site lives. I also have a blog where I occasionally post work and personal material.
Outside of work, my life revolves around my wife Sarah and our
boys Isaac and Jonas:
When time permits I read, travel, hack, argue, camp, run, cook, hike, and hang out with friends.
Although we've been in Utah for more than 10 years, my childhood was characterized by frequent moves. I've lived in Champaign Illinois, Kalamazoo Michigan, Springfield South Dakota, Newark Delaware, Manhattan Kansas, Settat Morocco, and Charlottesville Virginia. Additionally, I spent a couple of summers in the Seattle area, one in the LA area, and one in Nancy France.
My brother Eric does polar bear research for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He is based in Anchorage but spends a lot of time doing field work in the arctic. Here's an article describing his work. Our parents are retired from regular jobs but keep busy running a farm near Riley, KS.
Here are a few random, long-neglected pages.
